본 연구는 초등 학부모들이 AI 디지털교과서 도입에 대해 가지는 기대와 우려를 9가지 주요 영역(학습, 정서, 신체, 상호작용, 교수, 기술, 행정, 윤리, 사회)에서 구체적으로 분석하고, 각 영역 간 차이를비교하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 학부모 170명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 대응표본 t-검정과 반복측정분산분석을 활용하여 학부모의 기대와 우려를 정량적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, AI 디지털교과서의 9가지 영역 중 행정적 영역을 제외한 8가지 영역에서 기대 평균보다 우려평균이 통계적으로 유의미하게 높았다. 이는 학부모들이 AI 디지털교과서의 도입에 대해 긍정적인 가능성을 기대하면서도 전반적으로 부작용에 대한 우려를 더 크게 인식하고 있음을 나타낸다. 특히, 학부모들은 행정적, 기술적 측면에 대해 높은 기대를 보였으나, 신체적, 기술적, 윤리적 측면에서는 높은우려를 표명하였다. 구체적으로는 공공 교육 데이터의 정보 보안 및 개인정보 유출, 학생들의 신체적건강 문제, 수업 중 기술적 문제 해결의 어려움 등이 주요 우려 사항으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는AI 디지털교과서가 학부모들에게 교육적 효율성과 기술적 편리성을 제공할 것으로 기대되지만, 동시에 새로운 기술 도입 과정에서 나타날 수 있는 윤리적, 신체적, 기술적 위험에 대한 현실적인 걱정이크다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구는 초등학교 학부모의 기대와 우려를 균형 있게 반영하여 AI 디지털교과서 개발 및 도입 과정에서 정책적 지원과 보완책이 마련되어야 함을 강조하며, 후속 연구에서는 다양한 지역적 배경과 학부모의 경험 수준을 반영하여 AI 디지털교과서에 대한 보다 심층적인 분석이필요함을 제언한다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the expectations and concerns of elementary school parents regarding the introduction of AI digital textbooks across nine key domains (learning, emotion, physical health, interaction, instruction, technology, administration, ethics, and society) and to compare differences between these domains. A survey was conducted with 170 elementary school parents, and the data were analyzed using paired-sample t-tests and repeated-measures ANOVA. The results revealed that the average level of concern was significantly higher than the average level of expectation in eight out of nine domains, with the administrative domain being the only exception. This finding suggests that while parents recognize the potential benefits of AI digital textbooks, they also harbor greater concerns about their possible drawbacks. Specifically, parents expressed high expectations in the administrative and technological domains but showed significant concerns in the physical health, technological, and ethical domains. Key concerns included data security and privacy breaches in educational settings, the physical health issues of students, and challenges in resolving technical problems during class. These results indicate that although AI digital textbooks are expected to enhance educational efficiency and technological convenience, realistic worries about ethical, physical, and technical risks remain significant. This study emphasizes the need to balance parental expectations and concerns in the development and implementation of AI digital textbooks by providing adequate policy support and addressing potential risks.
