본 글의 목적은 I 대학의 인성교육 목적에 부합하는 차원에서 윤리적 자아형성과 공존의 리더십을 함양하는 리더십교육을 구체화하는 데 있다. 보다 구체적으로는 ‘윤리적 리더십’의 본질적 특성을 명확하게 밝히고, <윤리적 리더십> 교과목의 전반적 개요를 제시한다. 본 글은 다음과 같이 구성되어 있다. 첫 번째 장은 인성교육, 윤리교육, 리더십교육에 나타난 주요 문제점을 명확히밝힌다. 두 번째 장은 국내 대학과 미국 대학의 인성교육의 차원에서 운영되고 있는 리더십 교과목의 현황과 특징을요약한다. 세 번째 장은 관련 문헌을 검토하는 가운데 윤리적 리더십의 정의를 분석하고, 리더십 교육모델의 이론적틀거리로서 사회변화모델을 탐구한다. <윤리적 리더십> 교과목은 윤리적 리더십 개념의 재정의와 사회변화모델의이론적 기초의 토대 위에서 성립되었다. 본 교과목의 목적은 자기존중감을 함양하고, 공동체 의식과 사회적 책임을증진시키는 데 있다. 본 연구는 윤리적 리더 양성의 중요성을 확증하고, 대학 인성교육의 위기 속에서 리더십 교육의적실한 방향을 탐색하는 데 기여할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to envision leadership education fostering ethical self-formation and leadership for coexistence which are actually appropriate to character education’s goals at I University. More specifically, this paper aims at clarifying the essential feature of ‘ethical leadership’ and offering a general overview of <Ethical Leadership> course. This study is organized as follows. The first section clarifies major defects which are exposed in character education, moral education, leadership education. The second section summarizes the present condition and features of leadership education as a character education in Korean and American universities. The third section analyzes the definition of ethical leadership by reviewing the relavant literature and investigates the SCM(Social Change Model) as a theoretical framework of leadership education model. <Ethical Leadership> course is established upon the basis of redefinition of ethical leadership and the theoretical framework of Social Change Model(SCM). The purpose of <Ethical Leadership> course is to cultivate self-respect and to promote community spirit, social responsibility. This study will contribute to confirm the importance of fostering ethical leader and to explore the appropriate direction of leadership education in the crisis of character education in universities.
