Abstract
The effect of aquatic exercise on lumbar strength, pain and inflammation markers in obese low back pain patients. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of aquatic exercise on lumbar strength, pain and inflammation markers in obese low back pain patients. 12 obese middle age women with back pain were randomly divided into two groups, CG(6) and EG(6). The subjects performed aquatic exercise, 60min/1d, 2d/1w, 40~50%HRR, by using aqua noodle and belt during 10weeks. Body composition test, blood analysis, VAS and lumber strength test(Medx) were performed before and after aquatic exercise. The results of this study are as follows: Weight, BMI significantly decreased in exercise group. 0° 48°, 60° and 72° of lumber flection of lumber strength, total lumber strength and relative lumber strength significantly increased in exercise group. The back pain significantly decreased, HDL significantly increased, in exercise group. There are no change on CRP and ESR in two groups. In conclusion, regular aquatic exercise is effective on improvement of lumber strength and reduction of back pain while there are no effect on CRP in obese middle age women with back pain.
