외국인 유학생 대상 상호동료튜터링 비교과 프로그램 개발: S대학의 사례를 중심으로

본 연구는 S대학의 사례를 중심으로 외국인 유학생 대상 상호동료튜터링 비교과 프로그램 개발을 목적으로 수행되었다. 이에 본 연구는 S대학의 교육목적과 교육목표를 토대로 외국인 유학생과 한국학생 간의 상호동료튜터링을 통해의사소통, 학교, 문화, 대인관계, 학업증진 등의 역량이 강화되고 학교생활적응 체제가 마련되는 것을 주요 내용으로하였다. 연구 결과, 상호동료튜터링 프로그램 비교과 교육은 의사소통 역량, 문화적응 역량, 대인관계 역량, 학업증진역량 등 4개의 역량 프로그램과 한국어 능력 강화, RWS(읽고, 쓰고, 말하기), 학교·문화적응, 한국역사문화탐방, 동료튜터링, 집단 상담, 학습 코칭, 학습 모둠 등 8가지의 활동을 제안하였다. 이를 토대로 외국인 유학생과 한국인 학부생들이상호 교류하는 상호동료튜터링 개념을 정립하고 개발모형과 운영 프로그램과 사례를 제시하였다. 이를 통해 지금까지외국인 유학생 대상의 교육이 한국어 능력 강화, 대학생활 및 한국사회의 적응 등에 초점을 둔 교육의 한계를 벗어나비교과 교육 특히 글로벌 의사소통의 중요성을 인식하고, 이를 보다 체계적으로 운영하기 위한 모형과 프로그램을설계하고 사례를 제시하였다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다. 결론에서는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구요약과 시사성및 연구의 한계를 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of developing a reciprocal peer-tuturing extra-curriculum program for foreign students based on the case of S university. Based on the educational purpose and educational goal of S University, this research focused on strengthening the ability of communication, school, culture, interpersonal relationship, and academic advancement through reciprocal peer-turing between foreign students and Korean students, and establishing a school life adaptation system. As a result of the study, first, the reciprocal peer-tuturing program proposed four competency programs: communication skills, cultural adaptation skills, interpersonal skills, and academic promotion skills. Second, eight activities were proposed: strengthening Korean language skills, reading, writing and speaking (RWS), adapting to school and culture, exploring Korean history and culture, fellow tutors, collective counseling, teaching and learning groups. Based on this, the concept of reciprocal peer-to-peer tutoring, in which foreign students and Korean undergraduates interact, was established and the development model and operation programs and cases were presented. Through this, it is meaningful that education for foreign students has so far moved beyond the limits of education focused on strengthening their Korean language skills, college life and adapting to Korean society. It is also meaningful in that university education, in particular, has been recognized for the importance of global communication, and has designed and illustrated models and programs to operate them more systematically. Based on these results, the conclusions discussed the summary of the study, its implications, and its limitations.
