이 연구는 국내 감정 단어 목록 개발 연구 동향을 분석하고자 하였다. 미리 선정한 기준에 따라 28개 연구를 선정하였으 며, 선정된 연구의 발행 연도, 연구자의 배경 등 기초사항과 감정 단어 목록 개발 목적, 구조화 유형을 확인하였다. 이어 각 연구에서 감정 단어를 추출한 출처과 추출방법을 살펴보았으며, 끝으로 최종 감정 단어 목록과 구조화 과정을 확인하였다. 분석 결과, 감정 단어 목록 개발 연구는 1990년 이래로 지속적으로 증가하는 추세를 보였으며, 주로 정서의 구조를 탐색하거나 감성분석 등의 목적으로 이루어졌음을 확인할 수 있었다. 감정 단어는 주로 선행 연구의 목록을 활용하여 연구자가 직접 감정 단어를 추출하는 경우가 많았다. 적절성을 기준으로 감정 단어를 추출하는 경우가 많았으나, 연구에 따라 적절성의 개념이 상이하였다. 논문에 감정 단어 목록을 제시하고 있는 12개 연구를 대상으로 추출된 감정 단어 목록을 검토한 결과 총 1,402개의 감정 단어가 나타났으며, 감정 단어 중 ‘우울하다’와 ‘불안하다’가 가장 빈번히 나타났다. 전체 감정 단어 중 절반에 해당하는 732개 감정 단어는 특정 연구에 1회만 등장하는 것으로 나타나, 연구에 따라 추출된 감정 단어가 상당히 이질적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 다수의 연구에서 감정 단어 목록을 추출한 후, 감정 단어를 범주 및 차원으로 구조화하는 과정을 거쳤으나 그 방식은 연구마다 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 향후 감정 단어 목록 개발 연구와 활용에 있어 시사점을 논의하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the research trends in the development of Korean emotion word lists. A total of 28 studies were selected according to criteria, and basic information such as publication year and researcher's background, the purpose of developing emotion word lists, and the method of structuring such lists were examined. Information on the source of the emotion word and the method of judging the emotion word used in each study was also investigated. Finally, the final word list developed by each study and the structuring method used in each study were reviewed. The results revealed that research on developing word lists has been continuously increasing since 1990, mainly to explore the structure of emotion or sensitivity analysis. In most studies, the researchers judged emotion words using a list from previous research. Whether each word was appropriate as an emotion word was considered mainly based on relevance criteria; however, the concept of relevance was different for each study. As a result of examining the list of emotion words from 12 studies that presented an emotion word list, a total of 1,402 emotion words were found. Among these, “anxious” and “depressed” were the most frequent. A total of 732 emotion words, equivalent to half, were found only once in a study, suggesting that the emotion words were quite heterogeneous. Structuring the emotion word list into categories or dimensions was conducted in most of the studies; however, the method was different for each study. Based on the results, implications for future research and application of developing emotion word lists are discussed.
