이 연구는 학습자에게서 암묵지가 어떻게 습득되는지의 실제 과정에 대한 이해를 제고하기 위한 목적의 일환으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 플루트라는 악기 연습 과정에서 학습자가 연주법을 어떻게 익히는지, 즉 교수자와 학습자 사이에 암묵지가 어떻게 공유되는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 암묵지가 어떻게 습득되는지를 살펴보기 위해서는 연습이 일어난 실제 상황에서의 학습 과정에 대한 이해가 중요하다. 이는 상황학습론과도 그 맥을 같이 하는 것으로 상황학습론에 서는 학습의 과정이 일반적인 규칙과 같은 지식 체계의 습득이 아니라 특정 유형의 행위와 문제 해결의 맥락에의 참여라고 보았다. 이 연구에서는 상황학습의 과정에 대한 관찰 분석을 위해 민속방법론에 의존하였다. 민속방법론에서는 암묵지의 발휘 과정이나 이를 터득해가는 과정은 사물을 매개로 하여 구성원들과 공유 가능한 실제적인 실천의 양상을 띠는 만큼 충분히 관찰 가능할 수 있다고 보았다. 실제로 일어난 학습의 과정으로서의 상황맥락에의 참여에 대한 면밀한 관찰 분석이 암묵지의 습득과정과 이를 조력하는 코칭의 특성에 관해 이해하는데 일조할 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
This study was conducted as part of the purpose of enhancing the understanding of the process of how tacit knowledge is acquired from learners. To this end, we examined how learners learn how to play in the process of practicing the flute, that is, how tacit knowledge is shared between the instructor and learner. To examine how tacit knowledge is acquired, it is important to understand the learning process in an actual situation in which practice takes place. This is consistent with situated learning theory, which views learning as participation in the context of specific types of actions and problem solving, rather than the acquisition of a system of knowledge such as general rules. In this study, ethnomethodology (EM) was used to observe and analyze the process of situational learning. In EM, it was considered that the process of exercising tacit knowledge or learning it can be sufficiently observable, as it takes on a situated aspect of practice that can be shared with members through objects. It is expected that a close observational analysis of the process of what happened will clarify how it can help understand the characteristics of coaching that assist in the acquisition of tacit knowledge.
