개인 맞춤형 질병 예방과 치료에 최적화된 인공지능 의료 로봇의 역할 비중은 의료 현장에서 점차 커지고 있다. 아울러 가정 안에서 보건 의료 및 건강 서비스, 삶의 질 개선을 위한 홈헬스케어 인공지능 로봇의 개발은 가장 주목할 만한 과제 중 하나로 떠오르고 있다. 인간에게 근거리 서비스를 제공해야 하는 홈헬스케어 인공지능 로봇은 그 설계 특성상 제작과정과 운용에 있어 상당히 세심한 주의와 신중함이 필요하다. 만약 자율지능(Autonomous intelligence) 시스템을 갖춘 인공지능 로봇이 인간 삶과 배치(背馳)되어 상용화된다면 이는 우리 사회에 큰 문제를 안겨주게 될 것이다. 중요한 사실은 인공지능 기술발전의 속도를 가늠해 보았을 때, 멀지 않은 장래에 로봇에 자율지능 시스템을 장착하는 것이 현실화될 수 있다는 판단이 설득력을 얻고 있다는 것이다. 이에 본 연구의 목적을 홈헬스케어 인공지능 로봇의 상용화에 따른 잠재적 위험 요소와 윤리적 문제를 개발자가 설계와 제작과정에서 사전에 최소화할 수 있는 기본원칙과 실천원칙의 윤리 문항의 개발로 설정했다. 이 문항들이 홈헬스케어 인공지능 로봇의 윤리인증 제도 구축의 초석이 될 것으로 기대하는 바이다.
Abstract
In the near future, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) robots in the medical field, which will open the possibility of personalized disease prevention and treatment services through the fusion of biotechnology and medical engineering, is gradually increasing. In particular, the development of home healthcare AI robots is emerging as one of the most notable tasks to improve health care and health services and the quality of life in the home setting. However, home healthcare AI robots that provide services to humans in the near distance, require careful attention and consideration in the manufacturing process and operation due to their design characteristics. Moreover, we can no longer overlook the case where AI robots equipped with autonomous intelligence systems work in parallel with human life. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop the checklists for ethical principles and practical rules that minimize possible risk factors and ethical problems that may accompany the wide use of home healthcare AI robots. Furthermore, the checklists will be the cornerstone of the ethical accreditation system for home healthcare AI robots.
