본 논문에서는 러시아어에서 통시적, 공시적으로 일어난 자음과 모음사이의 전후설 자질의 상호 영향을 고찰하고 있다. 본론의 전반부에서는 통시적, 공시적 현상을 jotation과 구개음화를 시작으로 현재까지 일어난 현상을 기술하였다. 이렇게 수집되어진 자료들을 바탕으로 본론의 2장과 3장에서는 전-후설 동화와 관련된 2가지 주요 쟁점에 대하여 논의해 보았다. 우선 자음과 모음 사이에서 어디서 어디로 영향을 미치는 가라는 방향성의 문제가 첫 번째 관심사였다. 이 문제의 해결은 음성-음운적 요인과 함께 형태론적 요인도 분석에 염두를 두어야한다는 사실을 밝혔고 부가적으로 역사적 기저형태를 고려해야한다는 주장도 내놓았다. 두 번째로 러시아어 역사적 구개음화 현상에서 /č/palato-alveolar:/c/palatal stop 사이에서 선택의 문제는 연구개 자음의 전설 모음과의 조응 관계에서 찾아야 하며, 고위 전설 모음과 중위 전설 모음의 조응 관계에서 나타나는 차이로 인하여 발생한 것으로 간주하여야 한다는 점을 밝히고 있다.
Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the diachronic and synchronic backness switch in Russian. For this purpose, the author collects the related data and analysis this. In this paper the author tries to solve the following two problems. (1) Is it possible to predict the influence direction in Russian palatalization or backness switch? For this research, the author analysis the articles of Rubach(mainly 2000) and Lee(2005) and find the one problem that is still under the curiosity : raz + iskat’ → raz + ɨskat’(*raz’ + iskat’). This is the phenomenon, arising from historical phonology(← разы+искать) and morphology(preserving the morphological form) reasons. (2) What is the main reason, choosing between the /č/ and /c/ as a palatalized form of /k/? The author explains this as a different result of coarticulation between velar and front vocoids /i/ and /e/. The following table is the schema of vocal cavity and articulation point.
