Abstract

Ownership and Corporate Governance of Privatized Firms in Russia, Czech, and Poland Sang-Joon Lee The privatization implemented in transformation countries were based on the neoclassical principles of economic thoughts that have been implemented in developed countries. For the institutional economics, firms have the different transaction costs depend upon the social and institutional context. There could have been little substantial change in property rights and supervision cost of manager are still high. Consequently, ownership was less important than competition, institutions and incentive structure that have laid on the basis of market economy.
