초록
Prior to giving consent to the treatment of a physician, a patient has toreceive, as prerequisite, the information on what his/her disease and therelevant treatment are. The Physician’s duty to inform his/her patients is theprerequisite for the patient’s consent. The medical ethics mainly deals with life and death of humans, whilethe notion of clinical ethics primarily deals with individual physicians andtheir professional ethics. Such issues dominate the field of clinical ethics as fraud on patients for medical purposes, patients’ refusal and consent, physician’s assistance in dying, the necessity and value of prior instructionand determination by the attorney-in-fact. Medical policies and ethics shall be considered as wee, since individualphysicians have to determine their relations with patients within theinstitutional frame. Further, the ethics matter becomes more prominent whenit comes to experiments with clinical trials on humans. Aware of the issues, this study intends to review what clinicalconditions a clinical trial has to satisfy by reviewing the physician’sobligation to inform the patient from historic and ethical perspectives.
