초록

본고는 중국의 문화대혁명에 대한 구미와 중국어권의 연구 동향에 대한 검토이다. 문혁연구의 일반적 상황을 문혁 연구 규정요인, 지역별 시기별 연구동향으로 개관하고, 문혁 연구의 주요 쟁점을 시기, 원인과 기원, 과정, 영향과 평가로 나누어 정리하였다. 그리고 문혁의 과정은 다시 고위층, 대중운동, 부문별 지역별 등으로 나누었다. 문혁연구는 자료, 분과학문이 접근법, 정치적 제약 등에 의하여 규정받는다. 또한 문혁연구는 과거에는 주로 중국 외부에서 진행되었지만, 점차 중국인 또는 중국대륙으로 그 중심이 이전하고 있다. 연구주제도 정치, 사회적 거시적인 주제와 연구 대상의 지역적 제한이 있었다면, 각 지역에서의 조반과 희생자 문제 등을 포함하는 연구 주제와 대상의 다양화가 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 문혁이 중국정치를 이해하는 데서 가지는 중요성에도 불구하고, 많은 문제들이 여전히 미제로 남겨져 있다는 점에서 문혁연구 지속적인 심화연구가 필요한 영역이라고 할 수 있다.

Abstract

This is a review article about the English and Chinese literatures for the Chinese Cultural Revolution Studies(CR Studies). The CR Studies are conditioned by the accesses to the research materials, the approaches of the disciplines, and the political conditions including the researcher's political preferences. The CR Studies had been developed at outside Mainland China. According to the progress of the Chinese opening and reform, there were some changes in CR Studies. First, there were increased the importances of the chinese literatures and scholarship. Second, there were the deepening and diversification of the research topics including the rebels, the regional issues not limited to the Beijing and Guangdong, and the victims, etc. Although, as to so many mysteries not to be solved yet, it is necessary to deepening and enlargement of the CR　Studies.
