This study aims to explore the clinical and cultural perspectives of American human services practitioners toward the mental health care of multicultural families in Korea. Twenty one human services practitioners in Orange County, California were recruited for the study during the period of January through February, 2012. The findings suggest the importance of cultural and ethnic considerations in the assessment and intervention of multiethnic populations with problems. Development of culturally competent systems of care including community-based networking will be critical in addressing mental health needs of multicultural families in Korea.
Abstract
