Abstract
The Recipients of Galatians can only be imagined as Gentile Christians. However, this paper applies an interpretation grounded in Performative Criticism and Communicative Perspectives, as well as in Ancient Jewish Tradition, to Galatians 3:15-18 to illuminate the living process of persuasion and decision-making between the Letter's Sender and the Recipient Community. Through this, it proposes the hypothesis that Jewish Christians may still exist within the Recipient Church Community. Through his argument on the Promise to Abraham and the Law of Moses, Paul invites both Gentile and Jewish Christians to turn from “Works of the Law” and return to “Faith in Christ”.
