고등학생의 학업성취, 교사기대 효과인가? 귀인 효과인가?

본 연구는 고등학생의 학업성취가 교사기대에 의한 자성예언 효과인지 아니면 학생의 귀인 효과인지 실증적으로 검증하는 것이다. 분석맥락은 교사기대와 학생의 자아특성 그리고 학업성취의 시계열적 인과관계를 구조방정식모형을 설정하여 확인하는 것이다. 분석 자료는 한국교육고용패널(KEEP)Ⅰ, 3차～4차, 한국교육고용패널(KEEP)Ⅱ, 1차～ 2차 자료이며, 표본은 고등학교 2학년에서 3학년 시점 측정변수에 결측치가 없는 사례가 선정되었다. 분석방향은 고등학교 2학년 시점의 교사기대, 학생 자아관 그리고 학업성취가 고등학교 3학년 시점의 교사기대, 학생 자아관 그리고 학업성취에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 분석결과 고등학생의 학업성취는 교사기대→자아관→학업성취로 연계되는 자성예언을 통한 교사기대 효과가 우세한 것으로 확인된다. 다만, 학업성취에 직접 미치는 효과는 교사기대보다는 학생 자아관이 더 뚜렷하게 나타나기 때문에 귀인효과도 또한 시사된다. 본 연구 결과는 고등학생의 학업성취 제고에 도움이 될 수 있는 교사역할과 학생의 학업활동 변화에 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Abstract

This study is to verify whether the academic achievement of high school students is a teacher's expectation effect or a student's attribution effect. The analysis context is to explore the causal relationship between teacher expectations and student self concept that affects academic achievement, by the time series. The subjects of study are students who responded to teacher expectations, student self concept, and academic achievement at the point from the second to third year of high school at the data of KEEPⅠand KeepⅡ. As a result of the analysis, it can be estimated that high school students' academic achievement has the more teacher expectation effect than the student's attribution effect. But the direct effect on academic achievement is more pronounced on students' self-concept than teachers' expectations. Therefore, an attribution effect is also suggested. The results of this study are considered to be able to confirm the factor of developmental tasks and social relations that are helpful in enhancing the academic achievement of high school students.
