Abstract
This paper investigates how the global risk stemming from European financial crisis was transferred to global financial and energy market, pinpointing on European and Asian Energy market since 2007. We analyzed crude oil and natural gas in Europe, US, Asia and identified the channel of global risk and how to affect the earning rate of energy commodity using VIX index. The paper drew the conclusion that the Henry Hub ’s earning rates in US affects the global risk index. This is because risk hedging activities in US market are very animated due to the high volatility of the Henry Hub ’s market, comparing to crude oil market. But there is a few opportunities to hedge the risk in Europe and Asia since the most of deals depends mainly on the long term contracts.
