Abstract
Schleswig-Holstein is the region where Denmark and Germany underwent a conflict for centuries over a territorial boundary. Although this region was a symbol of territorial dispute, however, Schleswig-Holstein of today enjoys a reputation as the most successful case where the German and Danish minorities have well settled down in the respective part of the region. This was possible because the respective local and central government implemented supportive actions in various aspects―politically, economically and socio-culturally. Supportive actions from a European side were also useful. This paper examines how the minority issues in Schleswig-Holstein have been successfully dealt with in these aspects.
