많은 연구자들이 ABC시스템 도입으로 기업성과가 개선되는가에 관심을 가져왔다. 일부 선행연구들은 ABC시스템이 기업성과를 개선시켰다고 주장하는 반면 일부 다른 연구들은 기업성과 개선에 영향이 없다는 연구 결과를 제시한다. 본 연구에서는 기업성과를 재무적 성과와 비재무적 성과로 구분하여 ABC시스템 도입 효과를 검정하였다. 한국 상장제조기업에서 추출한 표본으로부터 100개의 사용가능한 설문지와 한국 상장협의회의 ‘상장회사 총람“등의 자료를 가지고 분석한 결과 ABC시스템 도입은 비재무적 성과에는 영향을 주지만 재무적 성과에는 부분적으로만 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 비재무적 성과 자료를 설문지에서 얻고 재무성과 자료는 상장회사 총람 등에서 구했기 때문으로 판단된다. 즉 설문지에서 응답자의 주관적인 응답이 ABC시스템 도입의 비재무적 효과를 과대평가했을 가능성이 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to find out if the adoption of ABC affect the firm's financial and non financial value. Total of 100 usable questionnaires were collected from the manufacturing companies listed on the Korean Stock Exchange. Out of 100 companies 31 companies had adopted ABC system. Statistical analysis revealed that difference in performance before and after the adoption of ABC system among the ABC adopting companies were significant with regard to return on equity, customer satisfaction, quality standard and time standard at a five percent significance level. T-test between the ABC adopting companies and non adopting companies revealed that return on asset was significantly different at a ten percent significance level while customer satisfaction, quality standard and time standard were significantly different at one percent significance level.
