보험을 포함하는 금융설계는 금융이해력을 바탕으로 금융역량이 발휘될 때 성공적으로 이루어질 수 있으므로 교육을 통해 보험에 대한 이해력을 제고시키는 일은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우리나라 초·중·고등학교에서의 보험분야 교육내용을 제7차 교육과정을 중심으로 조사하였으며, 교육의 목표와 내용이 불완전한 것은 물론 교육시기도 체계적이지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 조사결과에 따라 초·중·고등학교에서의 보험분야 교육은 교육목표를 정립하는 것이 무엇보다 선행되어야 하며, 교육내용 및 교육시기를 체계적으로 구성·배치하는 것이 요구된다는 점을 제시하였다. 초·중·고등학교에서 체계적인 보험교육을 통해 이루어지는 보험이해력의 제고는 궁극적으로 올바른 보험활용을 가져와 금융소비자로서의 개개인에게 성공적인 금융설계를 가능하게 해줄 뿐만 아니라 발생 가능한 사회적 손실을 줄일 수 있을 것이기 때문에 매우 중요하게 다루어져야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate the topics and/or contents on insurance and to find out the problems of insurance education in the Elementary, Middle, and High School curriculums. The results of the investigation shows that the curriculums have little contents on insurance subjects and no relationship among contents. Futhermore there is no arrangement plan about the topics on insurance through the Elementary, Middle, and High School curriculums. To accomplish the better performance of insurance education, it is necessary, first, to establish the explicit purposes of insurance education, second, to improve the completeness of the insurance contents, and finally, to rearrange the insurance topics in the whole regular curriculums of the Elementary, Middle, and High School.
