Objective : This study aimed to investigate the current status of bee venom acupuncture (BVA) procedures and safety education among Korean medicine doctors. Methods : The study targeted all Korean medicine doctors affiliated with the Korean Medical Association and conducted an online self-administered survey. The questionnaire was developed by the research team and reviewed by experts before use. Results : Data were collected from 477 respondents out of 25,826 Korean medicine doctors. No significant differences were found in the incidence of adverse reactions during BVA based on demographic factors of the practitioners. However, the levels of practice in hand hygiene, clean zone management, and Procedure Instruments and Process showed significant differences in the incidence of adverse reactions during BVA. The levels of education and practice in safe BVA procedures were strongly correlated across all areas. Conclusion : There is a need to develop a systematic and repetitive practice-oriented education program for safe BVA procedures within the undergraduate curriculum of Korean medicine schools.
