19세기 조선인의 서구관 －서양 기물의 수용과 그 영향을 중심으로－

Abstract

This study is on the features of Chosen's perception on the Occident in the 19th century, particularly about the Occident equipment's acceptance and utilization. It is explained how western equipments had been utilized for the livings at that times. It is no longer need a huge discourse like Dongdoseoki(東道西器). In the 19th century, the glasses, the telescope, and the alarm clock was the typical symbol of the Occident equipment in Chosen. Those equipments generated changes for Chosen empire. One of the simple witness is the change of the to the think patterns. Those perceptions promoted the differentiation of the Self and the Other. And it made the opportunity which escapes from the underdeveloped system. And they thought that the alarm clock was the miraculous thing as a machinery and experienced by it's visually precision organ. What they was interested in the machine was expressed a friendly way with the Occident. One side, it was one of the feature to this time to collect the clock as hobby.
