W i l l m a n n1 2 ) 최근 3세대 알루미나(Biolox forte)의 연간 선상마모율은 0 . 5 ~ 3μm / y e a r 로 알려져 있으며 (금속 대 금속 2.5 μm /year, 금속 대 폴리에칠렌 75~150 μ m/year, 세라믹 대 폴리에칠렌 30~70 μ m / y e a r )6 ), 또한 생산된마모입자의 무게로 계산한 용적 마모율( v o l u m e t r i cw e a r ) 도 금속 대 폴리에칠렌의 1/1,000, 금속 대금속의 1 / 4 0 에 불과하다고 한다2 2 ) .
