연구배경: 노인 우울증의 시간에 따른 변화에 관한최근의 연구 결과는 상이하다. 본 연구는 노인들의 우울증에 다양한 하위 궤적그룹이 나타나는지 그리고 다양한 궤적그룹이 관련 있는 변인이 있는지 분석을 수행하였다. 방법: 한림고령화패널 조사에 참여한 노인들을 대상으로 시간에 따른 우울증의 변화를 탐색하였다. 잠재성장모형을 이용하여 다른 변화 패턴을 보이는 그룹들이 식별되는지, 그룹 간에 유의미한 차이를 보이는 변인들이 있는지검증하였다. 결과: 4개의 다른 우울증 궤적을 보이는 그룹들을 식별하였으며, 건강상태, 경제상태, 사회적지지 등의 변인들이 각 궤적그룹 간에 유의미한 차이를 보이는 것으로나타났다. 결론: 지속적 우울 그룹에 속할 위험요인을 줄이기 위해초기 개입을 통한 우울증 예방의 중요성이 필요할 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
Background: Recent studies conducting changes in depressive symptoms among the elderly reported mixedresults. The present study sought to determine if subgroups of elderly Koreans follow distinctive depressivesymptom trajectories and the characteristics associated with the depressive symptom trajectories. Methods: Subjects were those who had participated in a longitudinal study of quality of life in older adults. A latentclass mixture model was examined to identify the trajectories of depressive symptom changes with time. Results: We found four depressive symptom trajectories. Poorer health status, poor economic status, and lesssocial support were risk factors in the high depression group. Conclusions: Early intervention to help elderly individuals manage their health, economic concerns, and socialrelationships may decrease the risk of high level depression.
