특수체육 미래를 위한 교류와 협력 - ‘특수체육학’ 학제 간 연구의 새로운 시작 -

최근 몇 년 전부터 특수체육 분야에서 현장 중심의 연구 활동이 강조되면서 더더욱 특수체육을 전공하는 학자들을 비롯하여 현장에서 근무하는 많은 지도자들이 장애인들에게 필요한 질적인 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하여 그들의 삶의 질을 높이는데 최선을 다하고 있다. 하지만 유익한 정보와 필요한 자료를 특수체육 내에서만 수집하여 만족할 만한 결과물을 얻어내는데 한계에 부딪치고 있음을 종종 발견하고 경험하고한다. 이 논문은 현재의 특수체육 발전과 양질의 특수체육 프로그램을 개발하기 위해 어떻게 학제 간의 연구가 이루어 질 수 있는가를 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적에 따라 특수체육학 관련 학회지와 체육학 관련 학회지 등을 중심으로 특수체육의 동향을 알아보고 그 간 체육학계에서 이루어졌던 분화와 통합에 대한 논쟁들을 살펴봄으로써 특수체육의 새로운 도약을 위한 교류와 협력 방안을 모색해 보고자 한다. 또한 이러한 일련의 과정에서 연구의 객관성과 타당성, 신뢰성을 확보하기 위하여 특수체육학 관련 학술토론회의 발표과정을 거쳐 관련 학문 전공자들과의 심도 깊은 토론들을 거쳤으며 연구과정에서 지속적으로 동료 연구자들과의 협의를 통하였다. 특수체육의 꾸준한 발전과 학문의 질적 향상을 위하여 첫째, 다른 학문 분야들과의 최적화된 교류와 협력이 필요하며 이러한 교류와 협력에 앞서 특수체육의 정체성에 대한 계속적인 논의와 함께 특수체육 전공자들의 역할 제고가 이루어져야 하며 둘째, 다양한 학문과 연구 방법들을 통합할 수 있는 패러다임의 모색, 그리고 셋째, 다양한 측면에서 학문간 협력과 교류 방식을 특수체육에 적용하는것이 특수체육학의 성장과 발전에 필요하다 사료된다.
Abstract
In recent years, Adapted Physical Activity professionals are facing needs for all different kinds of information to develop good quality of programs and curricula for persons with disabilities. However there are limited resources and hard to find adequate information from only in the area of Adapted Physical Activity. The objective of this article was to suggest how to optimally improve and/or develop Adapted Physical Activity for the future. The suggestions were developed based on reviews as well as analyses of research papers published in the Korean Society of Adapted Physical Activity & Exercise and discussions in the area of Physical Education in general. For validity and reliability of the article, this topic had been presented a variety of conferences and it had been discussed among many colleagues through different occasions. The study mainly describes three ideas :(1) establishing Adapted Physical Activity’s identity and enhancing Adapted Physical Activity professional’s roles, (2) the importance of finding paradigm to integrate diverse studies and research methods, and (3) collaboration and coalition through the cross-disciplinary, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary approach to maximize our ability to learn and gain knowledge to enhance the quality of Adapted Physical Activity.
