장애개념의 다중패러다임을 적용한 장애인스포츠인식척도 개발

초록

이 연구는 Priestley(1998)가 제시한 장애개념의 다중패러다임 이론을 적용하여 비장애인의 장애인스포츠에 대한 인식을 측정할 수 있는 장애인스포츠인식척도(Disability Sports Awareness Scale: DSAS)를 개발하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 Messick(1995)의 통합적 타당도, Benson(1998)의 강력한 구인타당도 프로그램 틀, Wolfe와 Smith(2007a, 2007b)가 제안한 Rasch 모형의 통합적 타당도 구현방법을 종합적으로 반영할 수 있는 통합적 타당도 분석 틀을 제시하였고, 이를 각 단계로 나누어 장애인스포츠인식척도의 타당도 증거를 체계적으로 제시하였다. 이 연구의 결과와 논의를 토대로 결론을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장애인스포츠인식척도는 통합적 타당도의 실제영역에 대한 증거를 제시하였다. 개발된 장애인스포츠인식척도는 ‘장애인스포츠의 가치를 바라볼 때 재현되는 장애개념에 대한 인식’으로 정의되고, 장애인스포츠와 연계된 장애개념을 측정·평가할 수 있는 준거를 제시하였다. 둘째, 장애인스포츠인식척도는 통합적 타당도의 구조영역에 대한 증거를 제시하였다. 개발된 장애인스포츠인식척도의 요인구조(개인손상차원, 개인심리차원, 사회체제차원, 사회문화차원)는 통계적으로 구분됨과 동시에, 장애개념의 다중패러다임 이론을 안정적으로 반영하였다. 셋째, 장애인스포츠인식척도는 통합적 타당도의 외적영역에 대한 증거를 제시하였다. 개발된 장애인스포츠인식척도의 G요인(장애인스포츠인식), 사회문화차원이 증가하면, 장애편견은 감소하였다. 그러나 개인손상차원이 증가하면, 장애편견 역시 증가하였다. 이상을 토대로 이 연구에서는 장애인스포츠인식척도의 이론적·경험적 시사점을 제시하였고, 이를 활성화할 수 있는 방향성을 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop the Disability Sports Awareness Scale (DSAD) which measures the awareness of people without disabilities toward disability sports by using the Multi-Paradigm of Disability Concept suggested by Priestley (1998) and Latent Variable Modeling. For this study, the analytic framework of unified validity developed by Messick (1995), the framework for conducting a strong program of construct validation by Benson (1998), and the unified validity implementation method of Rasch model suggested by Wolfe and Smith (2007a, 2007b) were provided. Furthermore, after dividing the developed analytic framework into each stage, the evidence of validity of the Disability Sports Awareness Scale (DSAD) was systematically suggested. Results indicated that the DSAS suggests evidences about the substantive domain of unified validity. The developed DSAS was defined as ‘the reenacted awareness toward the concept of a disability when the value of disability sports is expected’, and suggested the criterion which measures and evaluates the concept of disability associated with disability sports. The DSAS suggests the evidence related to the structural domain of unified validity. The factor structure (individual injury dimension, individual psychology dimension, social system dimension, social culture dimension) of the DSAS was statistically divided, and stably reflected the Multi-Paradigm of Disability Concept. The DSAS suggests evidences related to the external domain of unified validity. When the developed DSAS's G factor and social culture dimension increased, the stereotype of disability decreased. However, the stereotype of disability also increased when an individual injury dimension increased.
