Abstract
This study aims to verify the effects on the sense of coherence and positive physical capital by salutogenic physical activity program for the physically challenged elderly based on the theory of health generation. In addition, 36 elderly persons aged 65 years or older (18 in the experimental group and 18 in the control group) in the nursing home in Busan were selected as purposive samples, and the health-generated physical activity program was consisted of 24 sessions. It was analyzed by the analytical tool using Sense of Coherence 13 questions developed by Antonovsky(1987) and Positive Physical Capital of 18 items developed by Luthans, Youssef and Avolio(2007), the data processing was performed using SPSS 23.0ver, the two-way repeated measures ANOVA was done in order to investigate the differences of factor repetition between the experimental group and the control group. The results are as follows. First. The elderly with disabilities who participated in the health generated physical activity program showed higher improvement in understanding, manageability and semantics than those who did not participate in the program. Second, those who participated in the program showed higher self-efficacy and resilience than those who did not participate in the program, but did not show the higher level of optimism and hope.
