초록
This essay critically considers Yu Hua’s new narrative in his novel『Brothers』, created just for ten years after the 『A story of Mr. Xu Shan-guan's selling blood』. In the 1990 his novels, for example『Shouting in the drizzling rain, life』ㆍ『Life』ㆍ『A story of Mr. Xu Shan-guan's selling blood』, Yu Hua had such essential features as the firm conviction and expectation towards human potentiality and life’s transcendency. But Yu Hua’s new narrative in his novel Brothers, so called the narrative of mad enjoyment, has no real resemblance to his novels in the 1990, to which Yu Hua as a human novelist owes his fame. I think it must strike to every one, specially those deeply understanding his novel's artistic excellence. Because they can't find humanism, inherent in the title of Yu Hua’s novels, in his new novel Brothers. Through this research, I will suggest that Yu Hua's new narrative should regarded not only as a consequence of the development of understanding the human and life in real China, but also as a consequence of the challenge of creating new narrative. It seems to me that this is the human process of Yu Hua's evolution against capitalized China absorbed in mad enjoyment.
