Abstract
A Study on Translation Techniques of Emphatic Expressionsfrom English into KoreanKim, Jeong-Woo(Kyungnam University)The core meaning an author intends to deliver to readers is expressed in the form of 'emphatics' in written material. As such, an ambitious translator should pay heed to the emphatic expressions to precisely reproduce the author's intentions in target languages. In this paper I have ascertained various aspects of emphatic expressions in English, the source language, to develop related translation techniques that help English-into-Korean translators. In English, emphasis can be conveyed in the following four ways:
