邵南이 星湖에게 보낸 서간의 성격과 家藏 書簡의 중요성

Abstract

Seongho I-ik was a scholar of the Realist School of Confucianism represented by Namin at Geungi region. Sonam Yun Dong-gyu was a scholar who had played a main role to lay a foundation of Seongho school as a first student of Seongho I-ik. Seongho and Sonam had exchanged letters and the idea of how to apply a matter of courtesy to a real life throughout their whole life and had scientific discussion about sacred book. Additionally having a teacher and a student relationship, they had accomplished academic progress as sharing and expanding their interest. Compared with Seongho anthology, it was imperfect due to a political matter and the split within school, however, the Letter Owned by Sonam Family is a meaningful material to understand Seongho school’s idea and study because it was a rough draft before the publication, which was relatively similar with the original form. However when we compare with two materials which are the original form of the letter owned by Sonam family and the letter published in a Sonam anthology, chosen scientific content was only published as excepted personal content. After the anthology was edited, most of the personal content is marked to delete. Because editor have been selecting and deleting focusing on the scientific work of Sonam. Therefore only if we study the content and the original form of the letter which were not published in anthology could be possible to get near to the substance of Seongho school. Looking at the twenty-eight original form of letter which were not published in Sonam anthology, we could figure out the fact that the Letter Owned by Sonam Family shows in a concrete way how social association or instruction of one’s study had been progressed. We could also check the substance of exchange with Seongho and other students out in the letter about asking about welfare at all time. Moreover, it could be possible to see not only Sonam’s personal affairs, but also personal intimacy with Seongho as much as they have. Should the role and study of Sonam in Seongho school be researched, it will be essential to research the Letter owned by Sonam Family, which shows not only a side of study but also the aspect of real exchange and personal matters.
