RAEB는 가장 흔한 유형의 골수이형성 증후군으로서 진단된 환자의 40-60%를 차지하고, 이 중 30-50%의 환자가 다양한 세포유전학적인 이상 소견을 보인다. 하지만 본 환자에서 관찰된 바와 같은 단일염색체 이상으로서 9번 삼염색체는 매우 드물다. 저자들은 RAEB-II로 진단받은 후 특별한 치료없이 4년동안 급성백혈병으로의 이행이 없었던 65세 여자 환자에게서 9번 삼염색체의 소견을 관찰하였으므로 보고하는 바이다.
Abstract
Refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB), the most commom type of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), accounts for 40-60% of all patients newly diagnosed with MDS. Various clonal cytogenetic abnormalities are found in 30 to 50% of the cases. But, trisomy 9 as a sole chromosomal aberration is not common, which was observed in our patient. We report a 65-year-old female with trisomy 9. She was diagnosed with RAEB-II four years ago, and she had no evidence of progression to acute leukemia without therapy.
