디지털 건축과 추계학 이론과의 조형적 상관성에 관한 연구

현대 디지털 환경에서의 공간은 디자인적인 요소들을 넘어서 이제는 음악 등 다양한 요소와 결합하여 감성적인 부분을 표현하면서 정보전달의 목적으로도 좀 더 효과적이 매체가 되고 있다. 공간은 좀 더 다양한 표현으로 디지털 차원에서 시간과 소리를 기반으로 하는 동적인 상호 역할을 확대되어가고 있다. 더불어 시간과 소리를 기반으로 하는 공간은 21세기의 새로운 공간으로써 더욱 중요한 의미와 가치를 갖게 되었다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 현재까지 나타난 디지털 건축의 공간 개념에 대한 규정과 크세나키스의 추계학이론이 가지는 특성의 비교를 통해 조형적 상관성을 알아보고자 한다. 우선, 선행연구를 통한 디지털 공간 특성을 재정립한 후, 추계학 이론의 특성을 연구한다. 두 분야의 조형적 상관성을 알아보기 위해 디지털공간의 디자인특성, 형태 특성, 표현방법의 키워드와 추계학 이론의 특성을 비교하여 추계학이론의 조형적 키워드를 도출한다. 도출된 키워드를 기반으로 분석틀을 구축하여 디지털건축의 다섯 건축가의 사례를 분석하였다. 사례를 통하여 전자 음악이 어떻게 조형적으로 나타났는지의 상관성을 알 수 있음을 한 번 더 입증한다. 또한 하나의 분석도구를 제시하여 상관성을 세밀하게 분석하여 도출하였다. 마지막으로, 사례조사를 통해 재분석된 키워드를 기반으로 공간이 인간의 감성적인 측면에 호소할 수 있으며 변화되는 계기를 마련한다.
Abstract
Space in modern digital environment now serves as a more effective medium compared to the past, not only to convey emotional parts but also to deliver information by integrating many different factors such as music, beyond design factors. The space is expanding dynamic reciprocal roles based on time and sound in a digital dimension as more diverse expressions. Further, the space based on time and sound is a new space of the 21st century that has more important meanings and values. Thus, this research aims to investigate and analyze spatial characteristics of Stochastics presented in digital architecture in terms of Stochastics of Xenakis in music as a new design factor, together with definition of space in digital architecture presented until now. For this, analyzed were cases of five architects in digital architecture by re-composing key words of characteristics on electronic music in Stochastics, design in digital space, design patterns, and design expression methods. Through the cases, correlation was analyzed by presenting a single analysis tool that canindentify correlation how music of the digital information era is presented inaformative manner. Design characteristics is ‘temporality’ and ‘real-time reciprocal response’, derived from six analysis results modeling Stochastics presented in digital architecture through spatial expression of Xenakis’s Stochastics, which offers an opportunity to change space to a space that can convey human’s emotional aspects by having characteristics of ‘collision’ and ‘irregular sculptural patterns’ in design patterns and‘ extension and contraction’ and‘ integration’ in design expression methods.
