윤리적 패션 인증제의 현황, 과제와 전망

Abstract

The purposes of this study were (a) to examine various accreditation systems regarding ethical fashion, (b) to determine the characteristics of ethical fashion accreditation system. This study was also intended to provide theoretical background of ethical fashion accreditation system to academic field, promote practice and evaluation method for ethical fashion to fashion industry, and help to increase consumers’ trust toward ethical fashion industry, brand, and product. Accreditation systems regarding ethical fashion were gathered through literature, trade publications, and internet, and then analyzed on main agent, membership, standards, examination, and process. Findings were as follows. This study identified three frameworks for ethical fashion accreditation system; environment, people and cooperation that include the use of environment-friendly material, waste reduction, energy usage management, harmful chemical control, healthy working condition, ethical production, social responsibility, and support for ethical consumption. All of these were interconnected within fashion pipeline which is from fiber, textile and apparel production, retail, use, through discharge. Based on this study, the accurate and concrete ethical fashion accreditation system which is suitable to Korean fashion environment should be established. For this, future studies will be continued conducting positive research, including case-study and in-depth interview with staffs in ethical fashion companies as well as consumers.
