라이프스타일에 따른 국내 도시형 비즈니스호텔 디자인 분석

Abstract

A hotel is a place that reflects the lifestyle of modern people. The demand of customers in rapidly changing modern society has an important influence on choosing a hotel to stay for themselves, reflecting a variety of lifestyles. Currently, overseas tourists are rushing into our country due to K-Pop and Korean-wave hot blast but there is a lot lack of the supply of hotels compared with their demand so many investors are vigorously investing centered on business hotel projects. To analyze designs of domestic urban-type business hotels by the lifestyles of modern people, this study classified the branches of lifestyle of modern people into 4 types such as fashion-pursuit type, outward-activity type, culture-pursuit type, conservatism-pursuit type and then analyzed the examples of designs in business hotels by separating the aspects of design into application of Korean traditionality, differentiation of spatial function and simplicity of form. An analysis of the case studies showed that urban-type business hotels in Korea, which are based on modern and simple design in general, borrowed part of their design from the Korean traditional elements; the boundaries between business hotels and design hotels are becoming ambiguous and unique hotel programs and an automated system of task equipment are highlighted as a differentiation strategy of space function. Given that presently the designs of modern hotels vary into the styles fit with fashion-pursuit type and outward-activity type, a business hotel design, which is related with various industries and applicable to the types of lifestyle of customers segmented in more details such as food service, culture and medical tourism, is expected to be poised as one trend in the future.
