일본현대건축에서 나타나는 산일 구조적 특성에 관한 연구

1960년대 메타볼리즘으로부터 계속되어 온 일본현대건축의 자연과 같은 열린 체계의 공간에 대한 관심은 2000년대에도 이어지고 있는데, 본 연구는 세계가 주목하는 21세기 일본현대건축을 산일 구조적 관점에서 분석해 봄으로써 자연과 인간, 공간 간의 무한한 관계적 다양성을 생성할 수 있는 일본현대건축의 열린 체계로서의 공간에 대한 건축적 담론에 대해 해석하고 이것이 구체적으로 공간에서 어떠한 생성 질서로 나타나는지 분석하여 그 특성을 규명해보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 이러한 산일 구조적 특성이 공간구성에서 나타나고 있는 도요 이토를 비롯한 SANAA, 소우 후지모토, 아키히사 히라타, 준야 이시가미의 작품과 저서, 및 강연 내용을 주요 분석의 범위로 해서 이러한 열린 체계로서의 산일 구조적 공간 사유가 일본현대건축에서 등장하게 된 배경과 그 사유적 특성에 대해 해석하고, 이런 산일 구조적 특성이 실제로 공간에서 어떻게 나타나는지 사례를 통해 분석해보았다. 이를 통해 도출된 결론을 요약하면, 첫째, 열린 체계로서의 공간의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 산일 구조는 생명 시스템의 관점에서 크게 피드백 구조, 개방적 구조, 비평형적 구조 등 3가지의 특성으로 고찰할 수 있었다. 둘째, 이런 산일 구조적 유형을 기준으로 실제 사례를 분석해본 결과, 피드백 유형의 공간에서는 변이적 구조와 공명적 구조가, 개방적 유형의 공간에서는 발생적 구조와 점증적 구조가, 비평형적 유형의 공간에서는 다층적 구조와 이완적 구조라는 산일 구조적 특성이 나타나는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 사례 분석을 종합해보면, 이런 산일 구조적 공간 특성들이 각 작품 사례에서 전체적으로 고르게 나타나고 있지만, 특히, 일본현대건축에서는 피드백이나 개방적 유형보다는 비평형적 유형의 방향으로 산일 구조적 공간이 형성되는 것으로 규명해볼 수 있었다. 일본은 자연이라는 특수성을 건축에 접목하여 발전시켜 왔으며, 그런 의미에서 본 연구는 자연과 같은 살아있는 열린 체계의 생성적 본질인 산일 구조적 관점에서 분석함으로써 일본현대건축을 바로 이해하는데 있어 새로운 시각을 제시해줄 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 하겠다.
Abstract
Contemporary Japanese architecture's interest in open systematic space like living nature has been continued from the 1960s metabolism to the 2000s. The purpose of this study was to interpret the architectural discourse about 21st century Japanese architectural space as open system that generates diverse relationships among nature, human and space, and to identify the characteristics by analyzing the generative orders from the perspective of dissipative structure. The main scopes of this study were works, writings, and lectures of Toyo Ito, SANAA, Sou Fujimoto, Akihisa Hirata, and Junya Ishigami whose projects tended dissipative structural characteristics. I interpreted the background and spatial reasons that brought dissipative structural characteristics in contemporary Japanese architecture, and then analyzed how these characteristics appeared in actual projects through case studies. Summarizing the research results obtained over the course of these studies are as follows. First, dissipative structure which is the core of open systematic space was studied as three characteristics like feedback structural type, open structural type, and non-equilibrium structural type from the perspective of life system. Second, analysis of the results done through a real case, based on types of dissipative structure were as follows; Feedback structural type with ‘variational structure', and ‘resonant structure'. Open structural type with ‘interactive structure', and ‘gradient structure'. Non-equilibrium structural type with ‘multi-layered structure', and ‘relaxative structure'. Third, synthesizing case studies, I could identify that these dissipative structural characteristics have appeared more frequently in non-equilibrium structural type than feedback or open structural type. Japanese architecture has been developed by combining the uniqueness of nature with architecture. In that sense, this study will provide a new perspective to understand contemporary Japanese architecture from the view of dissipative structure which is the generative essence of open system like living nature.
