패션 일러스트레이션에 나타난 신체 부재의 표현 연구

초록

본 연구의 목적은 패션 일러스트레이션에 나타난 신체 부재의 표현 분류와 의미에 대해 분석하는 것이다. 연구방법 및 범위는 패션 일러스트레이션과 신체에 대한 연구논문과 전문 서적, 웹 사이트를 활용한 이론적 고찰과 20세기 이후 등장한 신체 부재가 나타난 패션 일러스트레이션 작품 총 189점을수집하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 패션 일러스트레이션에 나타난 신체 부재의 표현 분류는 패션 아이템의분류, 감성 오브제의 표현, 순수 추상의 표현으로 분류된다. 첫째, 패션 아이템의 표현은 패션 액세서리 및 뷰티 제품이 지닌 상징성과 은유적 표현을 통해 패션 이미지와 몰입감을 강화하였다. 또한 의복의 형태나 소재 표현 테크닉으로 신체의 움직임과 이미지를 연상할 수 있다. 둘째, 감성 오브제의 표현은 일상 관련 소재를 통해 패션 브랜드의 감성적인 스토리텔링을 형성하고, 해당 시즌 컬렉션의 주제와 옷의 특징을 전달하는 커뮤니케이션 도구로써 활용되었다. 셋째, 순수 추상의 표현은 대담한 색채와 역동적인 페인팅으로 조형적 예술성을 드러내며, 보는 이들의 다양한 해석을 가능하게 한다. 신체 부재의 패션 일러스트레이션이 갖는 의미는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 패션브랜드 이미지의 예술화는 추상적인 예술 형식을 표현함으로써 옷에 대한 객관적인 시각을 보여주거나 브랜드 이미지를 차별화하고 초현실적으로 표현할 수 있다. 둘째, 비유적 표현을 통한 상상력 자극은 은유, 환유 등을 통해 작품에 대한 감성적 설득력을 높일 수 있다. 셋째, 스타일 감성의 확장은 일상적 의미를 지닌 패션 아이템이나 문화적 소재를 적용하여 현대 소비자들의 라이프 스타일을 드러내고 있다. 마지막으로 가상적 나르시시즘의 소비는 게임 속 아바타 캐릭터의 스킨 혹은 3D 디지털 형식으로 착용 가능한 NFT 패션을통해 디지털 세계에서의 새로운 자기표현의 수단으로 작용하고 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the classification and meaning of the expression of body absence in fashion illustration. The research method and scope were analyzed by collecting a total of 189 pieces of fashion illustration works using research papers, professional books, and websites on fashion illustration and body parts that appeared after the 20th century. As a result, the expression classification of body absence parts shown in fashion illustration is classified into the expression of fashion items, the expression of emotional objects, and the expression of pure abstraction. First, the expression of fashion items strengthened the fashion image and immersion through the symbolism and metaphorical expression of fashion accessories and beauty products. In addition, the movement and image of the body can be reminiscent of the shape or material expression technique of clothing. Second, the expression of emotional objects was used as a communication tool to form emotional storytelling of fashion brands through daily-related materials and to convey the theme and characteristics of the season’s collection. Third, the expression of pure abstraction reveals formative artistry with bold colors and dynamic painting, enabling various interpretations of viewers. The meaning of the fashion illustration of the body member is as follows. First, the artisticization of the fashion brand image can show an objective perspective on clothes or differentiate the brand image and express it surrealistically by expressing an abstract art form. Second, imagination stimulation through figurative expression can increase emotional persuasion of works through metaphors. Third, the expansion of style sensibility reveals the lifestyle of modern consumers by applying fashion items or cultural materials with daily meaning. Finally, the consumption of virtual narcissism is acting as a new means of self-expression in the digital world through NFT fashion that can be worn in 3D digital format or skin of avatar characters in games.
