심층 인터뷰를 통한 시각장애인의 의생활 분석에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 의생활과 관련하여 가장 불편함을 겪는 시각장애인의 의생활 현황을 파악하고 시각장애인을 위한 의복 개발의 방향성을 제안하는 데에 있다. 이를 위한 연구의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시각장애에 대한 정의와 이론적 고찰을 실시함으로써 장애 등급별 시지각 인식력에 대해 정리하였다. 둘째, 장애 등급에 따른 생활 방식이나 외모에 대한 인식 정도를 알아보기 위해 선행연구를 중심으로 시각장애인의 생활환경 현황에 대해 알아보았다. 셋째, 시각장애인을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하여 의생활 전반에 대한 세부적인 사항을 수집하였으며 특히 심층 인터뷰를 통해 의생활의 불편사항과 개선 희망 사항을 정리하였다. 연구방법은 선행연구에 대한 문헌 조사와 시각장애인 대상 설문조사를 통해 실시하였다. 분석 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 의생활과 관련한 현황은 의복의 정보를습득하기 어려워 타인과 동행하나 이에 대한 불편이 높은 것으로 집계되었다. 둘째, 디자인 개발을 위해서는 최근의 유행 경향을 바탕으로 전개하되 이에 대한 정보를 착장자인 시각장애인이 인지할 수있도록 의복 개발 방법을 모색해야 한다. 셋째, 시각장애인은 촉각에 예민하고 신체 보호에 대한 관심도가 높으므로 이에 맞는 소재를 적용하여 디자인을 개발해야 하며 마지막으로 새로운 디자인을 개발하는 경우 유행을 강조하는 것 보다 의복의 작은 요소들이 장애를 보완할 수 있는 팁이 되면서도 디자인적 의미를 갖는 형태로 개발해야 한다. 이와 같은 과정을 통해 본 연구는 시각장애인의 의생활 현황을 분석하고 개선을 위한 디자인 설계의 방향성을 제안하였으며 시각장애인을 위한 유행 경향이 적용된 의복 디자인 개발 연구의 기초 연구로 활용될 수 있다는 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the current state of clothing life of the visually impaired, who experience the most discomfort related to clothing, and to suggest the direction of clothing development for the visually impaired. The contents of this study are as follows. First, the definition of visual impairment and theoretical considerations were conducted to summarize the visual perception cognition for each disability grade. Second, in order to find out the lifestyle and appearance according to disability grade, the current status of the living environment of the visually impaired was investigated, focusing on previous studies. Third, a survey was conducted for the visually impaired to collect detailed information on overall clothing life. In particular, in-depth interview was conducted to summarize inconveniences in clothing life and hopes for improvement. The research method was conducted through a literature review on previous studies and a survey of the visually impaired. The analysis results are summarized as follows. First, as it is difficult to acquire information about clothing, the current situation related to clothing life was counted as high inconvenience for accompanying others. Second, for design development, it is necessary to develop a method based on the latest fashion trends, but to find a way to develop clothes so that the blind person who wears it can recognize the information. Third, since visually impaired people are sensitive to touch and have a high degree of interest in body protection, design should be developed by applying appropriate materials. It should be developed in a form that has a design meaning while being a useful tip. Through this process, this study analyzes the current status of the clothing life of the visually impaired, suggests the direction of design design for improvement, and is meaningful in that it can be used as a basic research for the development of clothing design to which fashion trends for the visually impaired are applied.
