현재 패션영상은 인간의 정신적·감성적 경험을 다양한 형태로 표현하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 현대사회에 내재된 인간의 양가감정과 갈등적이고 모순적인 현상을 설명하는 데 적합한 개념인 양가성을분석하고 패션영상에 나타난 양가성의 유형과 표현특성을 정립하여 하나의 디자인 방법을 제시하는것이다. 연구의 내용 및 방법은 다음과 같다. 심리학에서 양가성의 개념을 정립하고 문학과 미술, 영상에서 양가성의 특징을 분석하였으며, 양가성이 표현된 패션영상 사례를 분석하여 표현특성을 유형화였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 양가성은 한 대상에 대해 혼합하기 어려운 양면적 태도나 모순된 감정이 동시에 나타나고 공존하는 상태·상황을 말하며, 무차별성과 연관되어 긍정적인 효과를 나타낸다. 즉, 양가성은 대립가치들이 동일하게 평가되어져 기존 체계에서 낮게 평가되었던 가치들을 격상시킨다. 둘째, 양가성은 문학에서 카니발의 이중성, 중의적 가치로 표현되었으며 현실의 통상적인분류체계 및 위계질서를 전도하는 역할을 한다. 미술에서는 이중적 의미, 혼성적 이미지, 해체적 구조로 표현되었다. 셋째, 영상에서는 다중 공간, 이중 이미지, 해학적 스토리로 표현되었다. 표현방법은상징적이고 은유적이었으며, 시사적인 문제는 해학적인 스토리가 더해져 위트 있게 표현되었다. 넷째, 패션영상에 나타난 양가성은 시간과 공간의 불일치형, 공간과 캐릭터의 비상관형, 캐릭터의 분열형으로 유형화할 수 있다. 표현기법은 모션그래픽, 콜라주, 슬로우모션, 오버랩 기법을 사용하였는데, 콜라주 기법으로 다중 공간, 공간과 캐릭터의 불일치로 인한 양가성을 표현할 수 있고, 오버랩 기법으로캐릭터의 분열형을, 슬로우모션 기법으로 해학적 스토리를 표현할 수 있다. 본 연구는 양가성에 대한구체적 연구 선례로서 양가성을 디자인 방법으로 제시한 데 의의가 있다. 앞으로도 디자인 방법에 대한 지속적인 연구가 진행되어 다양한 디자인이 계획되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
Modern fashion films express mental and emotional experiences in various aspects. The purpose of the study is to present a design method analyzing ambivalence, a concept suitable for explaining the conflicting and contradictory phenomena of human ambivalence inherent in modern society, and establishing the types and expressive characteristics of ambivalence in fashion film. The contents and method of the study are as follows. It established the concept of ambivalence in psychology, analyzed the characteristics of ambivalence in literature, art, and film, and categorized expressive characteristics by analyzing cases of fashion films expressed by ambivalence. The analysis result is as below. First, ambivalence means a state or a situation where two-sided attitudes or contradictory emotions, with respect to a certain object coexist, and also shows positive effects associated with indiscriminating property. It elevates values that were undervalued in the existing system by evaluating opposing values equally. Second, ambivalence is expressed as duplicity of a carnival and ambiguous values in literature, and it played a role in conveying the usual classification system and hierarchy of the reality. It is expressed as a dual meaning, a mixed image, and a deconstructive structure in art. Third, it is expressed as a multi-space, a dual image, and a humorous story in film. The expressive method was symbolic and metaphorical, and the social issues was expressed in a witty way with humorous stories. Fourth, ambivalence can be categorized into discord between time and space, unrelatedness between space and character, and twofold character in fashion film. The multiple space and discord between space and character are expressed with collage, twofold character is with overlap, and witty story is with slow motion technique. This study is meaningful to present ambivalence as a design method. as a specific precedent for ambivalence. I hope various designs will be planned as continuous research on design methods will be conducted in the future.
