Abstract
As society progressively ages, smartphones have become an indispensable aspect of elderly life. This study aims to explore an evaluation system for smartphone interface designs in seniormodes. By establishing an evaluation index system grounded in game theory and the fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method, this research comprehensively assesses the quality of seniormode interface designs and offers recommendations for enhancement to foster the developmentof products that are more senior-friendly. The study begins by examining the basic needs andcognitive characteristics of the elderly in using smartphones, forming the basis for amulti-dimensional evaluation index system that includes structural frameworks, interactionmechanisms, and performance metrics. Data was gathered through literature reviews, surveys, and expert interviews to build the model. Hierarchical and factor analyses were subsequentlyapplied to determine the weights of the evaluation indicators. Through the combined applicationof game theory for weighting and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the interfacedesign of selected smartphone senior modes was empirically analyzed. This analysis aims toprecisely evaluate their strengths and weaknesses and to identify directions for improvement. The findings indicate that multisensory experiences, ease of information access, and real-timeguidance on functionalities are the primary concerns among older users. Enhancing these aspectscould significantly increase user satisfaction and ease of use for the elderly. The evaluationprocess revealed variations in how different design solutions meet the needs of elderly users, highlighting that current senior mode interface designs still face challenges such as functionallimitations, a lack of interface diversity, and a relatively high learning curve. The evaluationsystem and methodology proposed by this study not only provide smartphone manufacturers witha scientific tool for assessment but also offer clear guidance for the improvement of senior modeinterfaces.
