Abstract
Today, in the global era, fashion accessories are actively developing designs based on cultural DNA as a part of the high value-added fashion industry. In particular, design development using Korean traditional patterns shows the possibility of securing cultural competitiveness and creative design. Among the traditional patterns of Korea, the muntin pattern is one of the important elements to understand the aesthetic consciousness of our people, and it is applied in various ways in design development. However, there are not many design developments utilizing the elements of plants and animals that appear in the muntin patterns of traditional temples. Therefore, this study examines the aesthetic characteristics of the animal and plant patterns of traditional temples and, through this, attempts to develop a neck decoration design. This study consists of theoretical inquiry and production using 3D printing. The production of the work of this study was modeled and rendered through Rhino 3D 5, and was output in the FDM method. The motif of the work was limited to a mixed pattern of orthogonal lines and plants, a pattern of a mixture of orthogonal and diagonal lines and plants, a pattern of a mixture of curves and plants, and an animal pattern arranged in discontinuity. In addition, in the work modeling, a flat pattern of women's wear was used in consideration of wearability. Based on this, the work of this study consisted of 6 works showing three-dimensional textures according to the curved stacking, and 2 works showing the exposure of the internal space using a through type, and a total of 8 neck decoration design works were produced. As a result of the study, it was found that the elements of animals and plants appearing in the muntin patterns of traditional temples have various aesthetic characteristics, and when combined with 3D printing technology, a three-dimensional neck decoration design can be developed.
