레이저 마킹 상감기법을 활용한 문화상품 제작 기법 연구 -지방자치단체의 캐릭터를 중심으로-

현대 사회의 기술 발전 속도가 빨라지고 있으며 디지털 테크놀로지를 활용하여 많은 분야에서 영향을 미치고 있다. 지방자치단체는 캐릭터를 활용하여 지역의 문화, 역사, 전통을 알리고 있으며 캐릭터 산업 시장의 범위가 확대되고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 전통기법의 역사와 생활 방식을 반영하고 있으나 활용성 감소로 인해 전통 계승이 줄어들고 있는 점에 주목한다. 레이저 마킹기를 활용한 상감기법 제작 가능성에 대해 연구하고 전통기법의 숙련된 기술 및 제작 시간 단축으로 대량생산이 가능한 지방자치단체 캐릭터의 문화상품을 제작하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 첫째, 지방자치단체 캐릭터에 대해 알아보며 선행연구를 바탕으로 캐릭터를 표현 소재에 따라 분류했다. 둘째, 지방자치단체 캐릭터를 활용한 사례로 지역별 캐릭터 상품을 중심으로 알아보았다. 셋째, 상감기법의 정의를 알아보고 금속상감의 제작과정, 종류, 재료를 조사하였다. 넷째, 레이저 마킹기의 정의, 종류, 특징에 대해 정리하고 레이저 마킹기를 활용한 사례를 조사하였다. 레이저 감입 테스트를 8단계에 걸쳐 진행한 결과 약 4배 이상 시간이 단축된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 기반으로 지방자치단체 캐릭터 중에 자연물 캐릭터가 많이 속해 있는 대구광역시, 부산광역시, 경상남도, 강원특별자치도 4개 지역을 한정하고 특징, 문화, 역사를 반영하여 디자인 요소를 추출한다. 지방자치단체 캐릭터를 중심으로 전통기법인 상감기법의 가치를 널리 알리고자 레이저 마킹기를 활용한 문화상품을 제작한다. 현대화된 기술을 접목하여 전통 공예기법 계승을 이어나가고 소품종 대량생산이 가능한 문화상품 개발 연구를 이 연구로써 확인하였다.
Abstract
With the accelerating speed of technological advancement in modern society, digital technology has begun to influence various fields. It has been confirmed that local governments utilize characters to promote regional culture, history, and traditions, and the scope of the character industry continues to expand. This study draws attention to the decline in the inheritance of traditional techniques due to reduced applicability, despite their reflection of historical and lifestyle values. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of producing inlay designs using laser marking machines and to develop cultural products based on local government characters that can be mass produced by applying the craftsmanship of traditional techniques and reducing production time. First, the study investigated local government characters and classified them according to the materials used in their expression based on prior research. Second, it examined case studies of regional character products. Third, it explored the definition of inlay technique and looked into the production process, types, and materials of metal inlay. Fourth, it summarized the definition, types and characteristics of laser marking machines and reviewed relevant application cases. An eight-stage laser engraving test confirmed that production time was reduced by more than four times. Based on these findings, the study extracts design elements reflecting the characteristics, culture, and history of each region by focusing on four regions as Daegu Metropolitan City, Busan Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangnam-do and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province which have a large number of nature-based characters. Centered on local government characters, the study makes cultural products using laser marking machines in order to widely promote the value of the traditional inlay technique. This study confirmed that it is possible to develop and research cultural products which help to continue the legacy of traditional craftsmanship and enables small-batch and mass-production.
