Abstract
In this paper, author analyzes the establishment and development of Pre-Turk culture and the Koguryo's role in the existence of heave armours in Turk. Since the collapse of Xiongnu until the foundation of Turk Empire(A.D. 1c ~ late 6th c.), the development of archaeological culture in Turk people in Altai could be divided into 3 stage. The Ust-Koba culture(A.D. 1~3 c.), regarded as the 1st stage, shares common elements in mortuary tradition with the previous Pazyryk culture with Xiongnu type weapons. The Kok-Pash period(A.D. 3~5 c.), regarded as the 2nd stage, used ground tomb with stone circular fence. The change of morturary tradition and material cultures shows that in this phase there occurred the change of peoples(maybe migration). The Kudyrge period(A.D. 5th ~ late 6th c.), the third stage are different from the previous stages in heavy armours and metal stirrups. Simultaneously, The Ruanruan has flourished in Eurasia and the Turk Altai, subordinated to them, occupied in blacksmith for Ruanruan. Autour suggests that the heavy armours in Altai appeared in the mercy of Ruanruan's active relationship with Koguryo in the middle of A.D. 4th c. Hereby, the Kudyrge phase couud be called as the Ruanruan-Ashina period, and shows that the appearance of heavy armours with stirrups were occurred in Altai under the Koguryo's indirect influence before the foundation of Turk Empire.
