Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to figure out the role of the prepositions that leads to the English accomplishment constructions in Event theory. Many elements of the sentence such as objects or verbs also have an effect on the accomplishment constructions as discussed by many linguists. There are several prepositions which make a crucial contribution to the English accomplishment constructions. Path PPs include a goal within special PPs. Path argument measures out the event, providing a direct formal link between the boundedness of the path and the telicity of the event. In this paper, many data which include PPs are represented and the roles of prepositions in accomplishments are discussed.
