The present study investigates the effects of collaborative corpus-based learning using concordance worksheets for college students on the acquisition and retention of learners’ collocation awareness depending on the students’ proficiency of English. To achieve the goal of this study, concordance worksheets selected and modified from three different concordance tools were given to 115 college students. Delayed tests were given to the participants to see the effects on the retention of delexical verb collocation. This study also measures students’ attitudes and perceptions regarding corpus-based vocabulary learning. The results of the present study implied that collaborative corpus-based learning should be adopted and implemented and therefore, more activities should be considered with collaborative corpus-based learning especially in the EFL learning environment where a textbook is regarded as the fundamental and primary mean to learn second language.
