Abstract

As cyber threats grow more complex, integrating security early in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) of weapon systems has become essential. Although the Republic of Korea military has adopted security assessments such as software reliability testing, interoperability evaluations, and the Korean Risk Management Framework (K-RMF), these efforts often introduce additional workload in terms of schedule, budget, and manpower. This paper proposes a DevSecOps-based framework that ensures baked-in security throughout the SDLC by automating critical assessment activities. Leveraging open-source tools, the framework demonstrates continuous security integration while reducing manual effort and eliminating repetitive tasks, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and evaluation readiness.
