Abstract
In the modern digital environment, malware has become increasingly sophisticated, evading traditional detection methods. This study addresses this issue by proposing deep neural network-based computer vision models that combine malware visualization techniques with Residual Networks(ResNet), Dense Networks(DenseNet), and Autoencoder algorithms. The'MDResNet' and 'MDDenseNet' models transform malware data into images, employing a deep learning strategy that integrates residual learning and dense connections within Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs). This approach enhances learning efficiency and classifies complex malware patterns with 19% greater accuracy than traditional methods. The'MDAuto-Encoder' model combines CNN and ResNet with an Autoencoder to create an anomaly detection model that identifies abnormal patterns. This model functions as a powerful malware detection tool, approaching the performance of a'Perfect Discriminator'. For model training and evaluation, The present author has constructed three malware image datasets: MalwarePix-small, -medium, and -large. These datasets enhance deep learning model function and provide a new benchmark for malware research. This paper details the design and implementation of deep neural network-based computer vision models and validates the datasets and models through rigorous experiments. The proposed datasets and models will be usefully used as the essential technologies in responding to rapidly evolving cyber threats.
