20세기 후반부터 연변조선족자치주의 박물관은 중국 정부의 소수민족과 박물관 정책에 맞춰 확장과 변화를 거듭해 왔다 한반도에서 건너간 이민자이자 중국 다민족의 일원으로 살아온 조선족은 ‘항일운동’이라는 한국과 중국이 함께 겪은 근대사의 기억을 공유하고 있다 중국은 그동안 근대 항일역사를 일반 박물관 체제하에 편입시키며 집단기억을 재생산하는 데 큰 노력을 해왔다. 특히 21세기 들어 중국 정부는 56개 다민족 사회의 통합을 중요한 과제로 여기고 전국의 박물관을 민족통합과 사회통합을 위한 애국교육기지로 확립하는 정책을 시도하고 있다 본 논문에서는 중국 조선족자치주 소수민족 사회에서 근대기 항일역사룰 담아내는 방식에 주목하여 시대에 대한 기억 이 중국 조선족 사회에서 재생산되고 재해석되는 상황을 고찰해 보겠다.
Abstract
Since the late 20th century, the museums of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture have undergone continuous expansion and transformation in the context of Chinese government’s policies on ethnic minorities and museums. The Korean ethnic group, who migrated from the Korean Peninsula and has lived as part of China’s multi-ethnic society in the late 19 century, shares the memory of the ‘Anti-Japanese War,’ a chapter of modern history that Korea and China experienced together in the early 20th century. Over the years, China has made significant efforts to integrate ‘modern anti-Japanese history’ into its national museum system, thereby reproducing and perpetuating this collective memory. In addition, particularly in the 21st century, the Chinese government has considered the integration of its 56 ethnic groups as a crucial task for maintaining the national unity. As part of this effort, it has actively pursued policies to utilize museums as patriotic education bases to ethnic and social integration. This study focuses on the ways in which the memory of modern anti- Japanese history has been preserved within the ethnic minority communities of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in China. It explores how the identity of the Korean people and the collective memory of East Asia’s modern history regarding Japan has been reproduced and reinterpreted within the Korean-Chinese community in China.
