Abstract

The conveyor system is one of the most commonly used material transportation methods in factories and logistics centers. This system consists of a mainstream, responsible for directly transporting items, and a sorting branch that allows for inputs from the outside and for items to exit the mainstream. For a smooth flow of logistics, the mainstream must maintain appropriate spacing between items. However, collisions sometimes occur at the merging points, causing blockages in the flow. This research aims to study methods for evenly distributing items when specific materials are entering the mainstream and then being sent out to various branches, especially when the entry and exit points are randomly mixed and the numbers don't match. The goal is to achieve a balanced distribution to each branch, ensuring that the processes in each branch are temporally balanced, ultimately reducing process deviations between lines and contributing to overall production stability. We propose a logic to maintain balance in the conveyor line, which has multiple merge and diverge points, and validate its effectiveness using simulation analysis.
