‘코로나 19’를 통해 드러난 한국개신교인의 시민성에 대한 기독교윤리적 고찰

코로나 19는 정치, 경제, 사회 문화 전 영역에서 우리의 삶을 변화시켰다. 종교분야도 예외는 아니어서 코로나 19 이후 한국교회의 처신을 둘러싸고 많은 논란이 있었다. 이런 이유로 한국 개신교에 대한 많은 물음이 제기되었다. 본 논문은 “코로나 19를 통해 드러난 한국개신교의 시민성에 대한 기독교윤리적 고찰”이라는 제목 하에 코로나 19이후 한국개신교의 시민성을 추적하고자 한다. 우선, 시민성의 계보학에 대한 논의가 전개된다. 서구 근대화 과정에서 전개되었던 시민의 역사를 따라가면서 한국개신교 시민성 연구를 위한 사전이해의 단계를 밟는다. 다음으로 시민성 관련 본론으로 들어가서 코로나 19 이후 방역을 둘러싸고 벌어지는 국가주의 도래에 대한 찬반논쟁을 소개하고, 그 과정에서 불거진 공동체주의와 개인주의 간 갈등을 논할 것이다. 본 논문에서 한국개신교의 시민성을 논하면서 공동체주의와 개인주의 사이 관계의 역학에 주목하는데, 그 과정에서 종교사회학적 분석을 도모한다. 코로나 19시대를 맞아 실시한 한국개신교인 인식조사에 근거해 공동체와 개인, 개인윤리와 공동체 윤리 관련 인식조사 통계를 분석하고 한국개신교의 시민성을 규정하는 순서를 가질 것이다. 결론부에 가서는 한국개신교의 시민성에 대한 윤리적 성찰을 제공하는데, 코로나 19 언텍트 문화속에서 윤리의 어려움을 설명하고, 그에 따른 개신교 시민성의 윤리적 대안으로 타자의 윤리를 제안할 것이다. 그 과정에서 지젝, 레비나스, 바디우 등과 같은 현대철학자들의 타자론과 본회퍼의 타자의 윤리와도 대화하는 시간이 마련될 것이다.
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed all aspects of our lives, including politics, economy, and social culture. Christianity is no exception. There has been a lot of controversy over the conduct of the Korean churches since the beginning of the pandemic. For this reason, many questions have been raised about Korean Protestantism. This paper aims to track the civic attitude of Korean Protestants after the COVID-19 pandemic, under the title of “A Christian Ethical Study on the Citizenship of Korean Protestants revealed through the COVID-19 Crisis.” First of all, a discussion on the genealogy of citizenship will take place. This discussion will examine the history of the Western citizenry, which developed with the West’s modernization. Then, the paper will take steps to understand Korean Protestant citizenship. Next, I will introduce the pros and cons of the rising nationalism prompted by the COVID-19 quarantine measures and discuss the conflict between communitarianism and individualism that arose in the process. In this paper, I will discuss the citizenship of Korean Protestantism and pay attention to the dynamics of the relationship between communitarianism and individualism, during which I will provide religious and sociological analyses. Based on the Korean Protestant Perception Survey conducted during the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, I will analyze the statistics on community, individual, individual ethics, and community ethics and define the citizenship of Korean Protestantism. At the conclusive segment, I will provide ethical reflections on the citizenship of Korean Protestants, explain the difficulties of ethics in the COVID-19 “Un-tact” culture, and suggest “the ethics of others” as an ethical alternative to Protestant citizenship. In the process, there will be time to discuss modern philosophers such as Zizek, Levinas, Badiou, as well as Bonhoeffer.
