Abstract

This study explores the missionary tasks facing Korean churches in the 21st century, standing in the face of popu lation cliffs and the crisis of the absence of the next gener ation. Along with the multicultural transition, Korean society is seeing an increasing influx of migrants, refugees, and sec ond-generation diaspora youths, which is not just a sociolog ical phenomenon, but a missionary challenge and opportunity for the Korean church to respond anew. Focusing on the par able of ‘good Samaritans’ in Luke 10:30-37, this thesis illuminates theologically that hospitality to others is the essential value of evangelical missionary work. Research methods include literature research, text interpretation, case analysis, and missionary proposals, through which strategies are suggested to train and mobilize migrants as future generation missionary resources that can participate in the mission of God (Missio Dei), not limited to simple protection and relief. In particular, in the reality of Korean churches, we sought practical ways to disciple adolescents and young people from migrant back grounds, form a religious identity within the community, and send them to the site of global missionary work. In conclusion, the Korean church should continue the spark of the gospel by establishing future generations of migrant young people as partners in missionary work, overcoming the crisis of population decline and youth generation departure. This presupposes the restoration of an evangelical identity that internalizes the theology of hardship and martyrdom, and is accomplished through words, prayers, and discipleship training. Therefore, this paper proposes an evangelical missionary strategy for the Korean church to renew its global missionary mission even in the face of a crisis and to actively participate in the expansion of God’s country.
