본 연구는 1990년을 전후로 하여 우리 사회에 본격적으로 도입되었던 진보적 시민사회론의 논의 지평 확장을 목표로 삼고 있다. 시민사회가 계급적 차이와 진보적, 보수적 헤게모니가 공존하는 영역적 개념임을 전제할때, 본 연구는 우리 사회 장구한 민주화 투쟁의 과정에서 형성된 민주화 운동 영역을 지칭하는 시민사회 개념과 최근 신사회운동을 매개로 진보의 저변을 확대해 가는 시민사회 영역에 주목하였다. 한국 시민사회의 진보적 재구축을 위해서는 신사회운동의 주제화와 더불어 구사회운동의 주요 주제였던 계급운동이 병행 추진되어야 하며, 시민사회와 공론장의 민주적 제도화 역시 간과할 수 없는 과제임을 제시하고 있다. 이러한 문제의식하에 본 연구는 시민사회의 개념사와 영역에 대한 재구성을 통하여 시민사회가 부르주아 일방의 영역이 아니라 계급적 갈등을 내재한 헤게모니적 쟁투장임을 이론적으로 전제하고, 공적영역과 사적영역을 매개하는 영역으로서 시민사회를 재구성하고 있다. 특히 자유주의적 시민사회와 구별되는 시민사회론의 전개를 위하여 부르주아 시민사회의 붕괴과정을 맑스의 저작을 통하여 추적하고 있으며, 시민단체 등에 대한 미시적 연구경향의 범주를 넘어서는 시민사회론을 매개로 하여 전개될 수 있는 급진적 가능성에 대해 시론적 수준의 문제의식을 제출하고 있다.
Abstract
In modern, the civil society is the sphere which yields the emancipational autonomous power against the penetration of political power and capital relationship(Kapitalverha¨ltnis) into the civil society. Civil society will be discussed in the tension of simultaneous existence between the capitalism, an unequal system of modern society, and democracy, based on the political equality. The subject in the private sphere experiences economic inequality. At the same time in the public sphere he/she enjoys the formal equality right of political sphere. Certainly this relation bring about a tension of civil society. Civil society itself is a dynamic sphere which has performed a critical function through Öffentlichkeit. This article accepts Marxian and Gramscian concept of civil society in which class-conflict occupies an important position for the explanation of Social Movement. Especially, I focus on the right & law of reflection in relation to a social movement. On the assumption, this article aims at a spread radical theory in the our civil society.
