문화적 기억의 위기의 시대에 수집은 지식과 경험의 저장소의 문제로 큰 중요성을 가진다. 전시행위가 인지적 과정에 초점을 둔 행위라고 한다면 수집행위는 소통적 행위라고 볼 수 있다. 수집행위는 사물과 대상을 모으고 축적하는 수집행위를 넘어선 지식과 인식의 수집행위이다. 수집행위는 역사적으로 초기에는 지배계급의 취향이었으나, 근대에 들어와 계몽적 행위의 성격을 띄게 된다. 근대의 백과사전식 수집에서 분류별 수집이라는 단계는 인식과 경험의 선별적 수집과 수집행위를 커뮤니케이션 행위로 보는 시각으로 전환되었다. 이러한 역사적 조망을 통해 볼 때 수집행위와 전시행위, 그리고 교육적 행위는 근원적 연관성을 가지는데 이는 알드로반디의 사례를 통해 잘 드러난다. 이러한 역사적 사유속에 박물관에서 수행되는 수집행위가 교육학적 관점에서 조명될 필요가 있다.
Abstract
Collection has great significance as a repository of knowledge and experience in this generation of cultural memory crisis. While an act of exhibition focuses on cognitive process, an act of collection is a kind of communicative act. Collection is an act of knowledge and cognition and it is beyond gathering and accumulation. Historically, an act of collection was a taste of the ruling class in pioneer days. In modern times, however, it takes on a enlightening character. It has changed from a collection of encyclopedia form to a collection of classification form. We are diverted to think a collecting act and the selective collection of cognition and experience as an communication work. As a result, there is a correlation among collection, exhibition and education and it has showed by the case of Aldrovandi. In this historical thinking an act of collection in museum has to be seen in an educational view.
